Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku has approved the appointment of Sylvanus Yakubu Giwa as Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Media and Publicity.
Giwa was educated at the College of Education Jalingo and the University of Maiduguri. He started his working carrier with the defunct Gongola Television in 1987.
He was also General Manager of Taraba Television and had worked previously with Channels Television and the Africa Independent Television (AIT) in Lagos.
Similarly, Governor Ishaku has approved the appointment of Hassan Mijinyawa as the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor.
Educated at the Times Journalism Institute Lagos and the London School of Public Relations, Mijinyawa started his working carrier with the Weekly Scope Newspaper in the defunct Gongola State in 1988.
He was the pioneer correspondent of the newspaper in charge of Wukari and Takum local governments then encompassing the present Ibi and Donga local governments as well as the Yangtu Special Development Area of Present Taraba State.
Mijinyawa is a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations London and also an Associate Member of the Chartered Management Institute of the United Kingdom.
Also appointed is Alhaji Kabiru Dahiru Marafa as the Chief of Protocol.
Alhaji Marafa studied Mass Communications from the Bayero University, Kano, Nigeria; and attended Courses in Legislative Editing.
He taught at different Secondary Schools in the defunct Gongola State before joining the Gongola Broadcasting Corporation, GBC, Yola, in 1989. Marafa served as Director, Publications, with the State House of Assembly and later was appointed the Director of Protocol to Governor Danbaba D. Suntai.
Dr. Tukura Nuhu Nyigwa has also been appointed as the new Personal Physician to the Governor. Dr. Tukura studied Medicine at the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and worked at the Federal Medical Centre, Yola, General Hospitals Zing, Bambur, First Referral Hospital, Mutum Biyu and has attended numerous local and international fora. Dr. Tukura is a recipient of meritorious service award in 2008.

MR JELLASON BECOMES NEW SSG……
His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Taraba state, Arc. Darius Dickson Ishaku has approved the appointment of Hon. Anthony A. Jellason as the Secretary to the State Government.
Born in 1949, Mr. Jellason was educated at the Staff Training Centre Potiskum, the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and the Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON). He started his working career with the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources in the defunct North-Eastern State in 1970.
He was Sole Administrator, Zing Local Government from 1983 to 1984 and Secretary Baissa Timber Company from 1984 to 1987 and later elevated to General Manager, Baissa Timber Company in 1987.
The new SSG also served as Commissioner, Local Government Service Commission in the former Gongola State from 1989 to 1991.
When Taraba state was created, he became the first Chairman, Taraba State Civil Service Commission from 1991 to 1992. He was also the former Chairman of Taraba Agricultural Produce Marketing Agency (TAPMA).
Mr. Anthony Jellason served the Country in different capacities, some of which include Member of the Board of Ajakuta Steel Company and Federal University of Technology, Minna.
AS REBO USMAN TAKES OVER AS
CHIEF OF STAFF
His Excellency Darius Dickson Ishaku has also approved the appointment of Rebo Usman as the new Chief of Staff, Government House Administration.
Mr. Usman has an extensive working experience in his chosen profession, having trained in the field of professional accounting practice and risen to the position of a PARTNER in one of the leading accounting firms in Nigeria, Onuwufuju, Giwa-Osagie & Co (Chartered Accountants) in 1992. Before then, he had served as financial Controller of the defunct Gongola Investment Company Ltd, a position he held up to December 1991.
Educated at the Kaduna Polytechnic, Mr. Usman qualified as a Chartered Accountant in November 1990. In July 2002 he was screened and elected fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (FCA).
In addition to his professional practice, Rebo Usman has had an extensive sojourn into the public service in recent times. He was appointed Special Adviser to the Governor of Taraba State on Economic Matters in 2003, later Special Adviser to the same Governor on Finance and Economic Matters, and then Due Process in the same administration.
He was also Commissioner of Finance in Taraba state where he served as Chairman of the Forum of Commissioner of Finance in Nigeria in 2009. He served as Commissioner Water Resources and later Economic Planning.
