In his bid to ensure portable water supply to the people of the state, the state Govemor, Darius Ishaku has paid courtesy visit to the Country Director of African Development Bank, AfDB, in Abuja to seek for collaboration on how to improve water supply in the state. Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku said before he assumed the mantle of leadership, the state had been faced with the problem of water scarcity hence the need for the collaboration with the AfDB.

He said out of the twenty-five borehole serving Jalingo metropolis, only few are functional which according to him, can no longer cater for the need of the people considering the density of the population, particularly in Jalingo the state capital, Darius Ishaku said the state govemment is interested in providing long term solution for water to cater for the growing number of people living within the state capital.

In his remarks, the Country Director of African Development Bank, AfDB, in Nigeria, Ousmana Dore, said the Bank’s core objective was to ensure potable water supply for the people of Nigeria, adding that the bank had spent twenty-four million US Dollars in the provision of portable water in Taraba state.
