The Wife of Taraba State Governor, Barr. Mrs. Annah D. Ishaku has called for co-operation of the people in the state to give the Governor, Darius D. Ishaku, peace so as to succeed in fulfilling all His campaign promises to Tarabans.
Thanking God for the victory of the Governor at the Court of Appeal in Abuja, She urged all Tarabans to bury their differences, forgive one another and embrace peace.
She said the Governor would not only succeed in fulfilling His campaign promises to the people but would go extra miles in taking the state, which had suffered a lot of setbacks, to a greater height.
Mrs. Ishaku solicited for cooperation for the emergence of a new Taraba where peace, unity and development will strive.
The state belongs to all irrespective of religious, political or ethnic differences. She said.
The Wife of the Governor who made this passionate appeal during the festive period while celebrating the season with children, less-privileged and women at Takum Local Council of Taraba State said relevant plans have been mapped out by her Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) – Hope Afresh Foundation.
According to her, the NGO would assist in training the people, mostly, the girl child, women and youths on various skill acquisition programmes to empower people to become self-sufficient and employers of labour.
“Our people must understand that there is dignity in labour”. They must understand that the most important thing is to put food on the table and not to look for government jobs where they go to offices and sleep but collect salaries at the end of the month.”
The occasion was graced with a dance competition, price presentation and several other activities.
