In a bid towards achieving their nonprofit charity outreach which mostly has to do with the vulnerable, IDPs and less privileged, the President of the Nigerian Army Officers Wives Association (NAOWA) and wife of the Chief of Army Staff Mrs. Umma Kalsum Tukur Buratai, today January 21st visited Taraba state.
She was received by Her Excellency, Barr. Anna Dickson Ishaku, wives of Local Government Chairmen, female Commissioners, Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants, Special Assistants, and wives of other top government functionaries.
In her welcoming speech at Hope Afresh Foundation, Barr. Anna Ishaku spoke on behalf of Taraba state women saying Mrs. Umma is well received in the state and promised toflame up NAOWA’s visionin the state while in her absence.
Responding on behalf ofNAOWA, Mrs. Umma explained that one of their purpose of coming has to do with the recent Lassa fever outbreak and other health related challenges faced by the state.
Similarly, on a courtesy call to the Federal Medical Centre, Jalingo alongside wife of the Executive Governor, Barr. Anna Ishaku, who was received by the Medical Director, Dr. Yunus Wiza, the President of NAOWA, Mrs. Umma Tukur stretched her arm of love to the patients in the hospital as one of the mission of NAOWA’s outreach in the country.
Distributing gifts and items to patients, Mrs. Umma Tukur stressed the need for good health in a society of which Taraba is not left behind.
Speaking to our correspondence on the Internally Displayed Persons (IDPs) in the state Mrs Umma Tukur said that modalities will be put in place to ensure that IDPs are always remembered when she meets with Her Excellency the First Lady, Mrs. Aisha Buhari.
Responding to the courtesy call the Chief Medical Director of the Federal Medical Centre Jalingo, Dr. Yunus Wiza appreciate NAOWA and Her Excellency for the efforts to make sure that patients are being provided with good health facility. Dr. Yunus Wiza also led them into some wards in the hospital.
