Taraba State Governor, Arch. Darius Dickson Ishaku has appreciated the Inspector General of Police for uplifting one of his own through promotion.

Gov. Darius Ishaku made the appreciation yesterday through the Commissioner of Police Taraba) State Command, Shaba Alkali in his office while decorating former Corporal John Anebi with his new rank, a sergeant of the Nigeria Police Force which the Governor said he earned it through hard work and resilience.

The Governor emphasised that the reward for hard work is more work. He commended sergeant John Anebi for being steadfast and working committedly with him ever since he was a Minister and urged him to brace up for there is more demanding job ahead.

He maintained that whoever wants to work with him must be prepared to work extremely hard, averring that, it is in his job requirement to push people to a breaking point because he always expect a job that would be done today to be done. It is the only way you can make people very productive and apt to their responsibilities.

Governor Darius Ishaku used the opportunity to commend security apparatus in the state for working committedly to bring lasting and enduring peace to the state and particularly thanked the state Commissioner of Police for tolerating and accepting to work with some very difficult decisions; the desired result from him and beckoned on him and his men not to relent and assured him of his administration’s support so as to be combat ready at all times.

Gov. Darius Ishaku who was emphatic on how the state Police command was able to nib the crisis that recently erupted in Ibi at the bud was worthy of commendation and added that he has started ordering for modern fishing implements to make their fishing job less demanding only to greeted with crises in Lau and Ibi local governments respectively and call on them to imbibe the attitude of being our brothers keepers.

He then used the opportunity to challenge tarabans to cultivate the habit of harmonious coexistence so that the state can move forward and described crisis as the greatest enemy of progress.

Speaking earlier, the state Commissioner of Police, Compol. Shaba Alkali said John Anebi was among the 15 Police Officers who were promoted by the Inspector General of Police, IGP Solomon Arase for hard work and commitment to duty, stressing that the upliftment is meant to spur them to be more productive and to also boost morale of others to be equally productive in carrying out their responsibilities.

Shaba Alkali appreciated the state Governor for creating and giving him and his men conducive working relationship and prayed that the cordiality the police is enjoying in terms support to be effective in the discharge of duties assigned to them will continue and assured the Governor that he will work asidiously for peace to return to the state..

High point of the event was the decoration of former Corporal John Anebi with his new rank of a sergeant of the Nigeria Police by Governor Darius Ishaku and supported by the state Commissioner of Police, Shaba Alkali amidst salute and cheers.
