Wife of the Taraba State Governor, Barr. Anna Darius Ishaku  has urged road safety officers to enforce road safety laws as most drivers do not know the basic things about driving.

Barr AnnaThis was expressed by Her Excellency when the Road Safety Officers Wives Association (ROSOWA), Taraba State chapter paid her a courtesy visit at her Hope Afresh Foundation Office, Jalingo yesterday.

In her remarks, the Wife of the Governor stated that in spite of the current condition of the state, she is glad that groups like this are working for the good of all road users, adding that the association shall be kept in the records for being ever ready to lend a helping hand.

Her Excellency however expressed disappointment at some road marshals who neglect their jobs, stating instances of overloaded vehicles and cars violating traffic signs that are not stopped.

She further emphasised the need for enlightenment programmes on road rules so as to sanitize the general public and enhance safety on our roads.

Earlier, Mrs. Tessy Ada Omiko stated that the mission of the association rests on the membership by marriage to the officers and as such stand to support the efforts of their husbands in ensuring safety on roads.

She added that, participation in various enlightenment programmes are amongst some of the ways the association can collaborate with the views of the office of Her Excellency stressing that, by virtue of their vision, they share similarities with Hope Afresh Foundation in moving the state forward.

The meeting was attended by some members of the Corps Marshals alongside some wives of the Road Safety Officers led by the wife of the sector commander, Mrs. Tessy Ada Omiko.
