Barr. Anna Darius Ishaku wife of Taraba State Governor, was today at Jatau-Sabti, Mayo-Kam under Bali Local Government Area where she Commissioned a Hand Pump Borehole provided for the community by the Ubeh Divine Care Foundation.

Barr. AnnaOn arrival, the Governor’s wife was received by the Founder of the Foundation and President CAN Taraba State, Rev. Ben Ubeh, the Director, Peter Gambo,  the village head of Kam, the DPO Bali, among others.

The Governor’s wife stated that the event is a joyous one deserving celebration, saying, it is necessary for the community and the IDPs among them to glorify God who had preserved them during the crises period and brought them safely to settle in their present location, as not all victims were fortunate to be alive, adding that God has a purpose for bringing them to the State so they could relate with one another.

Barr. Ishaku who described the place as “second NDOLA in the valley”, revealed that on her way coming, she had asked God the reason for bringing her there, and according to her, “now I have seen and I have also heard”, stressing that since she and her entourage have seen and heard, the Government too will hear.

She appreciated the Convener of the programme for the initiative, stating that health is wealth, and the health of the community has been enhanced through the provision of potable water.

During the commissioning, her Excellency stated that the importance of water can never be overemphasised, as where there is water, there is life, adding that God who has given the water will also bless it so as to bring life and health to the people.

Earlier in his remark, the CAN Chairman, who is also the convener and Founder, Ubeh Divine Care Foundation, Rev. Ben Ubeh who stated that the programme is meant to put smiles on the faces of the desolate, appreciated the Governor for permitting her Excellency to go to interior places giving hope to the hopeless.

According to him, the inhabitants of the community are made up mainly of IDPs who fled their homes without a definite location, adding that the Team had been visiting for medical outreach when they discovered the people’s major challenge was lack of potable drinking water, which gave rise to the initiation and execution of the project.

He further expressed hope that, the Governor’s wife and her team will step in to assist the people in areas of security, health, education, agriculture and other basic infrastructure to aid them live a meaningful life.

Also speaking, the Director, Ubeh Divine Care Foundation, who is also the NLC Chairman, Rev. Peter Gambo expressed delight at the occasion, saying God cares about the inhabitants of the community, that is why he allowed his servant to locate them.

He commended her Excellency’s determination to visit despite the deplorable state of the road due to the rains, stressing that it takes only one who is determined to render assistance.

The Village Head of Kam, Mallam Isa Yakubu appreciated the Governor’s wife for the visit as well as the Foundation for providing the community with potable water.

Mall. Isa who stated that he has accepted the Gwoza community wholeheartedly, emphasising the need for communal living adding that the borehole should be used as the property of the entire community.

He further requested that government should come to their aid concerning access road to the community in other to bring development to the area.

Barr. Anna Highlights of the event include; donation of 80 Mosquito nets to pregnant women and children by Mrs. Doris Obed, a retired Chief Nursing Officer and song presentation by the women fellowship, COCIN.

Her Excellency was accompanied by wife of Speaker, Taraba State House of Assembly, wife of the SSG, wife of the Head of Service, wives of other top government functionaries, Staff of Hope Afresh Foundation, representatives of NGOs and women groups.
