Taraba state Governor, Arc. Darius Dickson Ishaku has tasked the newly sworn in caretaker Chairmen of six local government councils in the state to work assiduously towards alleviating poverty in their respective areas.
Governor Darius Ishaku said this today during the swearing in of six local government councils Chairmen in the Exco Chamber of government house Jalingo, hence the need for them to see themselves as a link with the people at the grassroots.
He maintained that they are now saddled with the responsibility of taking the message of rescue mission of his administration to the people by informing them accurately of its reality, adding that they have an enormous task. He urged them to wake up from their slumber and work committedly to the admiration of the people.
Darius Ishaku charged them to bring their people out of poverty and to ensure that peace which is a panacea that enhances better future that is all encompassing from hunger to self sufficiency be sustained.
Those sworn in were Yahuza Yaya’u of GassoL Local Government, Idi Mali Danfulani Karim Lamido Local Government and Hassan Nicholas from Lau Local Government.
Others were Shiban Tikari from Takum Local Government, Bitrus Gani from Ussa Local Government and Adi Daniel from Wukari Local Government.
Governor Darius Ishaku also used the forum to inform the gathering that his administration will be one year in office and posited that the journey has been eventful and characterised by trials, turbulent moments and learning process.
He maintained that, though they were memorable moments but very difficult to forget and appreciated all Tarabans for standing and supporting him throughout the period.
The Governor also sympathised with the families of those that lost their loved ones within this period and prayed God to grant the deceased eternal repose of their souls and stated that effort will be intensified to ensure that the present administration will strife to bring Government closest to the people by carrying all on board.
Caretaker ChairmenGovernor Darius Ishaku said the one year anniversary will begin on Friday with the Deputy Governor leading team of Muslim faithfuls in the state to pray for the state and the country while Christian faithfuls will join him at the CAN Secretariat to give gratitude to God for the journey so far and to also pray for peace in the state and the country at large.
Responding on behalf of the newly sworn in caretaker Chairmen, the Chairman of Wukari, Hon. Adi Daniel appreciated the Governor for finding them worthy and assured the Governor that they will work round the clock for the benefit of the people of the state and for the overall success of the rescue mission in the state.
