Wife of the Taraba State Governor, Barr. Anna Darius Ishaku has called on Tarabans to continue in prayers for the peace of the land in order to achieve development.

Children's dayBarr. Ishaku made this call Yesterday at her Hope Afresh Foundation Office, Jalingo when various groups paid her a courtesy visit.

The Governor’s wife who stated that the Governor has always asked for peace in exchange for development noted that, silent killings and unrest in some parts of the state has to a large extent interfered with some of her planned outreaches.

She called on the gathering to pray for the peace of the land and those passing through trying moments as well should be ambassadors of peace where ever they find themselves.

She further encouraged the groups to engage in training for skills acquisition, stressing that it is wrong for a degree holder to be idle, adding that trainings are available to those who are interested, urging them to also take advantage of each other’s comparative strengths.

Earlier in their separate speeches, the various groups appreciated her Excellency for her impact  in the lives of Tarabans especially the less privileged and prayed God to grant her long life, wisdom, sound health and the resources to continue the good works.

Most of the groups who stated that their vision was the same as that of the Hope Afresh Foundation pledged total support to all its activities, encouraging her to be a pillar to them as well as give them motherly advice when necessary.

The groups further appreciated God for the victories of the State as well as wished the first family a happy 1 year in office anniversary in advance.

Highlights of the event include presentation of gifts to  the Governor’s wife.

The groups present were, the Women of Divine Target, Legal Aids Community Development Service, YES Teens Forum, God’s Own Evangelistic and Discipleship Ministry and the Quintessential Business Women and Youth Association.
