In continuation of activities marking one year in office of the present administration, the chief Rescuer and Governor of Taraba State, Arc. Darius Dickson Ishaku has commissioned projects in four different communities on May 28th, 2016.

The projects commissioned included the connections of three communities to the National grid as well as the commissioning of Viva Feed Mills and all the projects were cited in Kakulu, Monkin, Yakoko and Kilometer 5,  all in Zing Local Government Area.

In his speech at the commissioning of the three electrification projects, Governor Darius Ishaku said he promised the people of Zing that he will carry them along if they support him and stressed that the connections of the three communities to the National Grid is the beginning of good things the community stand to benefit from his regime.

Darius Ishaku urged the community to make optimal use of the electricity by engaging into activities that will create wealth for them and their families as a means of contributing to the development of the state.

Accordingly, he assured the people of Yakoko that his administration will reactivate the broken down water facility in the town and also sink more boreholes to boost water supply in the area.

He used the forum to urge the people to continue to support his administration to deliver on the campaign promises to the electorate and added that, peace is key in the development of every society.

Speaking earlier, the Commissioner of Rural Development, Hon. Alexander Markus Senlo informed the Governor that the process of providing electricity to the three communities was conceived by the missionaries but could not see the light of the day.

Alexander Senlo maintained that similar efforts were made by successive administrations but all ended up in futility until the emergence of this present administration, which made funds available for the actualisation of these three electrification projects and calls on all Mumuye people to continue to Support the present Government to succeed.

At the Viva Feed Mills Zing, Governor Darius Ishaku said the Viva Feed Mills is very strategic in the industrialization process of the state and stressed that concerted efforts will be made to put the company on a sound footing to meet the poultry needs of the state and beyond.

He said his desire to create jobs for the teeming youths of the state necessitated the rehabilitation of the project that was started almost 27 years ago and challenge the people of the state to take advantage of Viva Feed Mills and go into poultry farming to become self-employed.

He further said individuals can obtain loan from Banks and invest in poultry farming either in large, medium or small scale which will translate into a positive value chain for a business and stated that efforts will be made to task the state micro finance Bank to assist the people of the state as well as cooperative societies with key emphasis on venturing into agriculture.

IMG_20160528_153611Governor Darius Ishaku commended the Taraba Investment and Property limited, saying that he expects more doggedness from for the company to grow as he will regularly demand for their profit margin.

Darius Ishaku said he will as a matter of urgency connect the company with the National Grid as well as extending it to the host community so that they too can benefit from government goodwill which is all encompassing.

He promised to assist the company with more funds as well the issuance of C of O of the land so that in the near future, the company will use it to secure loan for further expansion, adding that the era of waste is gone, noting that, Viva Feed Feed Mills is very strategic in the area of providing jobs for the citizenry.

During the occasion, the Governor donated 100 bags to Mumuye women who paid him a courtesy visit in appreciation of what he has done to the Mumuye communities and tasked the Local Government Chairman, the Chief of Mumuye and all stakeholders in Zing to safeguard the company.

In his speech before the commissioning, the Managing Director MD, of Taraba Investment and Property limited, Bitrus Yerima said the Company at present is capable of producing 240 bags per hour and about 1800 bags in ten hours, with about five different brands of feeds.

Bitrus Yerima maintained that to ensure its efficacy and standard, all the products have been certified safe by NAFDAC and also informed the Governor that the products are being tested on poultry birds of the company.

He then solicited for more support and funding from the state government to be able to function effectively and appreciated the Governor for his efforts in reactivating the Viva Feed Mills.

On arrival,  the Governor paid homage to the Chief of Zing, Kpanti Suleiman Ibrahim Sambo.

The commissioning events were witnessed by the Deputy Governor, Haruna Manu, Speaker Taraba State House of Assembly, Abel Peter Diah, wife of the state Governor, Barr. Anna Ishaku, wife of the Deputy Governor, Zainab Manu, top Government functionaries and the Kpanti Zing Suleiman Ibrahim Sambo.

Also, as part of the events, Governor Darius Ishaku inspected exhibitions from schools, private and Government organizations showcasing their latest technological inventions and the day was rounded off with a dinner at Taraba Motel Jalingo.
