Taraba State Governor, Arc. Darius Dickson Ishaku said his administration is ready to work collaboratively with members of the National Assembly for the overall interest and development of the state.

Darius Ishaku made this commitment in Government House Jalingo, when the Senator Representating Taraba Central Senatorial Zone, Senator Yusuf A. Yusuf of the All Progressive Congress APC, paid him a congratulatory visit over his achievements in the last one year and his success at the Supreme Court

Sen. Yusuf A. YusufHe said the visit is key to the success of the present administration and in line with his rescue Agenda in the state which is all encompassing.

He told the Senator Representating Central Taraba that all elected members are stakeholders and have a stake in the development of the state as well working in synergy to protect lives and Property irrespective of political affiliation.

The Governor commended Yusuf A. Yusuf for realising that Taraba state belongs to all and all hands must be on deck to do the needful by bringing our people together to coexist harmoniously so as to maximally reap the dividends of democracy.

Governor Darius Ishaku told the Senator that he is saddened by the pockets of killings that kept re-occurring in the state and lamented over the recent security breaches in Bali, Gashaka and Kurmi local government councils which many people lost their lives and Property destroyed.

Darius Ishaku who was visibly saddened by the activities of armed robbers around the Gashaka Gumti National Park, however said a military unit has been drafted to provide security to lives and Property around the park, adding that the Gashaka is tourist Haven and his administration is desirous of turning the area around so that the state and the country can benefit from it.

On the issue of salary, Governor Darius Ishaku said since he assumed leadership position in Taraba State, he has never fail in his duty to pay salary to civil servants that are genuinely employed and are on the payroll of government and asserted that no single individual has been denied his salary.

He challenged anyone who has been treated based on party affiliation to tender such evidence.

He explained that immediately he came on board, he had to suspend all appointments from 2012 to 2015, because of high level of anomalies.

He said a committee was setup to ascertain the genuiness of each employment, saying Government is waiting for the committee to submit it’s report and emphatically told the Senator that those that are qualified will be retained.

The Governor said his administration is not against the idea of people coming into the state to settle, but would not condone influx of unknown persons with arms to threaten the existing peace in the state.

Earlier in his speech, the Senator Representating Central Taraba, Yusuf A. Yusuf said he was in Government House on a solidarity visit and to congratulate him on his victory after a turbulent period in court and the need to work as a team for the overall interest of people of Taraba State putting aside political affiliation.

Yusuf Yusuf maintained that as the Governor of the state he is a father to all and pleaded with the Governor to extend his hands of friendship to all and sundry and posited that, leaders are people with large hearts embeded with an unequal disposition of good spirit of discernment.

He task the Governor to be more proactive in tackling security matters and assured him of his support to decisively address the issues on security, stressing that when security is fortified, investors will be willing to invest in the state.

The Senator said Mr. President has assured that Mambila Hydro Electronic power project will be a reality before his tenure elaspses and stated that when the project is completed, it will provide employment to citizens of the state as well as the generation of over 350 megawatts of electricity.

Other areas touched by the Senator included, boosting tourism, mining, the Dominion rice project as well as holding regular town hall meetings to feel the pulse of the people at the grassroots.

Also highlighted by the Senator included the establishment of liason office in Abuja, Construction of Dakka and Kurmi roads and the reactivation of Baissa Timber company.
