The Team Taraba, which came second at the just concluded Democracy Day Presidential Debate is to represent Nigeria at the global competition in Germany.

Presidential DebateThis cheering news has further boosted the ‘rescue mission’ of Governor Darius Ishaku, who has always pledge to rescue Taraba State from any form of backwardness and placed it on the part of greatness.

Speaking during the presentation of the trophy to Governor Darius Ishaku in his office, the lead Speaker, Israel Smart, narrated how his team was able to face all odds, despite the team’s disadvantaged position in the competition, to come out tops.

He then gladly said they were going to represent the country in Germany by virtue of the second position they took. He concluded his brilliant speech saying, ‘we went, saw and conquered’.

In his address, the Taraba state Commissioner of Education, Johannes Jigem, stated that the ministry selected students that performed very well and that past administrations in the state did not take issues like this  seriously, until now.

He added that the success was a sign that the ‘rescue mission’ was working.

Responding, Governor Darius Ishaku, who was noticeably excited, praised the team which he called ‘rescue children’.

He continued, saying, though the country was passing through hard times, government will do everything to make them succeed.

He urged the teachers of the team to keep up the good work. Before he rounded up his remarks, the governor joined hands with all present to give three hearty cheers to the team.

The governor then, behind closed doors, rewarded the team for its success.
