Tarabans are still barring their minds on the one year in office of Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku. The recent one is from the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor, Office of the Chief of Staff, Sunday Yusuf Tonga.

SSAWhile speaking in an interview with our reporter in Jalingo, Sunday Yusuf said the developmental initiative of the Governor is all inclusive as it stretches to all sectors of development during his one year in office.

He enumerated the

  • Revamping of the Mambilla highland tea in Sardauna Local Government Area,
  • Viva feeds in Zing Local government area,
  • Provision of transformers to some rural communities,
  • Construction of West African Examination Council office in Jalingo
  • Road constructions,
  • Water and electricity.

According to him, these would go a long way in ameliorating the sufferings of the masses.

On the area of peace, Sunday Yusuf said the Governor was able to maintain peace in the state by taking decisive steps in dealing with situations at crisis prone areas, mostly the recent Jolly and Shomo crisis in Karim Lamido Local Government Area of the state.

The SSA further opined that peace is a collective resolve of all people in the state, hence the need for Tarabans to eschew all forms of bitterness and embrace one another irrespective of creed or political affiliations.

Yusuf urged stakeholders in the state to support peasant farmers with insecticides, fertilisers and tractors during the farming season that has set in,towards complementing government efforts on diversification of the state resources and to improve yields.

He promised to liaise with other stakeholders in Karim and Lau Local Government areas to impress on the state government to construct an access road in the area.

He called on Tarabans to be calm to reap more dividends of democracy under Governor Darius Ishaku.
