Wife of Taraba State Governor, Barr. Anna Darius Ishaku has called on beneficiaries of the Skills Acquisition Training in Zing Local Government Area to avail themselves of the golden opportunity to learn basic skills that will make them productive citizens.

The wife of the Governor, who was represented by her Press Secretary, Elizabeth Usen Smith made the call during the flag-off of the empowerment training programme for women, youths, retirees and the vulnerable in Zing.
Mrs. Smith stated that, the training is put in place to rescue the participants from poverty, idleness and ensure that they channel their energies into useful ventures to help them and their families, adding that the training is also in response to the meeting her Excellency had with stakeholders on the best way to engage women, youths and the vulnerable as well as put food on their tables.
She further called on the trainers to be patient with the trainees and ensure they impact the required knowledge and also urged the participants to give the programme the seriousness it deserves.
Earlier, the Caretaker Chairman, Zing Local Government Area, Mr. Hammawa Musa commended the Governor’s wife for the laudable initiative, saying it will go a long way to improving the lifestyle of the participants and their families, calling on the youths to take advantage of the opportunity to better their lots and refrain from vices inimical to themselves and the society.
Also speaking, the wife of the Caretaker Chairman, Mrs. Bamaiyi Hammawa Musa enjoined the participants to be committed to the training and utilise the knowledge gained to improve their livelihood.
In his remarks, the youth leader, Dorzo Clement expressed appreciation to the Governor’s wife for coming to their rescue, assuring that the privileged participants would be monitored to ensure their commitment to the extent of imparting the knowledge on others for the overall benefit of the community.
On arrival, the Governor’s wife paid homage to the Kpanti Zing who was represented by the District Head, Mohammed Danladi to inform him of her mission so as to receive his support and blessings.
Participants will be trained in Cosmetology, Welding, Tailoring and Mechanics.
