The Taraba state commissioner of Information and Reorientation, Anthony Galadima Danburam, has congratulated Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku on his 62nd birthday.

In a congratulatory letter to the Governor, the commissioner says for Governor Darius Ishaku to attain the age of 62 is a testimony to the fact that God has preserved him to offer sacrifices for the survival of mankind.
The statement says as the governor strives hard to meet the needs of humanity as delivered into his hand by God, the sky would be his limit to meet the target.
It says Tarabans are testifying that Governor Darius Ishaku is fulfilling the mandate given to him by God and the people of the state.
The statement states that Governor Darius Ishaku has achieved a lot for the progress of the state by putting smiles on the faces of Tarabans.
The statement says as the Governor continues to steer the leadership of the state,the Lord will preserve him to deliver more dividends of democracy to the door steps of the people. It commends the commitment of the Governor towards restoration of peace in some crises prone areas in the state who are now enjoying peace.
The commissioner in the letter assures the Governor that the Ministry of Information and Reorientation will continue to blow the trumpet of the rescue mission to the people through the various media platforms.

Royal fathers have been tasked to work collaboratively with the Rescue Watch Team in their respective domain to drive home the brainchild of the present administration which is titled the Rescue Mission with the focus to make Taraba State one of the top two economies in the North East Region.
This was made known in a speech by the Chief of Staff Government House, Hon. Rebo Usman when he paid a courtesy visit to two traditional rulers, the Chief of Zing, Alhaji Suleiman Ibrahim Bala Sambo and the Chief of Yorro, Alhaji Ado Adamu Mazang the Chief of Mumuye to intimate them on the new policy of the present administration that is poised to reposition the state to able to stand on its own.
Rebo Usman stated that, for the Rescue Watch at the Grassroots to be vibrant, the present administration needs the support and cooperation of the Royal fathers that are closer to the people to help further sensitize the people to key into the project.
The Chief of Staff informed the two royal Fathers that to ensure the success of the Rescue Watch, the Taraba State Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku has already constituted two committees, the Revenue and Grassroots committees, comprised of Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants, and Special Assistants to drive home the Rescue Mission Agenda.
Accordingly, he explained that the Revenue Committee will be saddled with task of collecting taxes and channeling it appropriately so that it will help the present administration meet up with its responsibilities to the citizenry while the Grassroots team are tasked to closely monitor Government policies and programs and report back appropriately by engaging people in the monitoring and implementation of Government projects and with a clear cut directives on the two teams to report back to the Chief of Staff who in turn reports to the Governor for appropriate action where necessary.
Similarly, the Chief of Staff maintained that the Purpose of the Rescue Watch is to critically address issues bothering on peace and security, provision of Infrastructural facilities, robust Revenue Generation machinery, rural transformation through the provision of Infrastructure and robust engagement with rural populace for sustained development and economic empowerment and with a clear cut policies aimed at good service delivery and the promotion feedback mechanism.
Rebo Usman pointed out that the state Governor is determined to make Taraba State self-sustaining by evolving ways that the state can earn revenue and added that apart from the Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants and Special Assistants, the services of ad-hoc persons will be required and they will serve as contact persons and as well serve as the eyes of both the Revenue and Grassroots team at each word of the state. With a view to reawakening the people to be steadfast and contribute towards ensuring that Government activities are still carried out with absolute decorum in the state.
In their separate responses, the Kpanti Zing, Alhaji Suleiman Ibrahim Sambo said he supported the present initiative of the state government and expressed his readiness and determination to work committedly by sensitizing the people of his domain to support the current administration.
Suleiman Ibrahim maintained that the art of repositioning the state should not be left in the hands Government alone, but people should support Government so that effective service delivery will also be felt even at the Grassroots.
While the Chief of Mumuye, Alhaji Ado Adamu Mazang said the Rescue Watch is a welcome development and reiterated his determination to personally take the campaign to the Grassroots.
He told the chief of staff that before the oil boom, Nigeria was surviving through tax payment with traditional rulers being used in such exercise and punitive measures were meted on defaulter.
Ado Adamu Mazang asserted that the state could only move forward if people are ready to contribute meaningfully by supporting Government initiative that is meant for the overall benefit of the people and urged people Yorro to embrace and key into the Rescue Mission of the present administration for a better tomorrow.
He lamented that education most especially at the Primary School level has been neglected and used the opportunity to plead with the state government to take serious measures toward addressing the problems of teachers particularly the prompt payment of their salary so as to improve the standard education in the state and said he will work extra hard to encourage the people of his domain to consolidate on the peace being enjoyed in the state and asserted the Mumuye people of Yorro are peaceful people.
The Jalingo Smart City IDPs Tracking and Monitoring Project, designed and implemented under the supervision of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Smart City Initiatives and immense support from Her Excellency, Wife of the Executive Governor of Taraba State and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Hope Afresh Foundation Taraba, Barr. Anna Darius Ishaku has won global recognition.
The project was awarded the Global City Teams Challenge (GCTC) $10,000 Leadership Prize at the just- concluded Smart City Innovation Summit in Austin, Texas, United States.
The Internet of Things (IoT)-based solution offers hope to thousands of Nigerians who have been displaced in Jalingo, Taraba State with a medium to a long-term plan to implement the solution throughout the North Eastern region.
The project will also provide more accurate data to Government Agencies and support groups as well as enable citizens to receive quicker and better quality response before, during and after displacements.
The Global City Teams Challenge (GCTC) is a collaborative platform enabling Local Governments, Nonprofit Organisations, Academic Institutions, Technologists and Private Corporations Globally to form project teams or “Action Clusters” to work on groundbreaking Internet of Things applications within the smart city environment.
Across the country, GCTC Action Clusters are working to address the country’s most pressing problems in the areas of transportation, public safety, health, education, waste management, internal revenue collection among others.
The Jalingo IoT-based IDP Tracking and Monitoring System Action Cluster consists of the NITDA, Hope Afresh Foundation Taraba, Jalingo Local Government Council, IDEA Hub, Land Gate Consultancy and a host of telecommunications companies in Nigeria.
Taraba State Governor, Arc. Darius Dickson Ishaku has commended the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP members in the state for their commitment, dedication, doggedness and resilience during ?the 2015 general elections that brought onboard the present administration in the state.

Governor Darius Ishaku made the commendation during the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected officials of Peoples Democratic Party, Taraba State chapter at the Jolly Nyame Stadium, stressing that PDP in the state stood firm to ensure that the party emerges victorious at all levels.
Represented by his Deputy Governor, Haruna Manu who emphasized the need for collective unity, primarily to re-strategise to make the party wax much stronger in preparatory to the 2019 general elections
He asserted that the new slogan of the party, “Change the Change,” should be a point of meditation of every faithful and loyal member of the PDP.
Haruna Manu maintained that the present administration is determined to collaborate with the new set of Executives to take PDP in the state to the next level by creating a level playing ground for every member of the party.
The Deputy Governor advised the new Executives to fashion out ways that will help bring back the grieving members of the party as well as encourage those that were hitherto not from the PDP to come and join the party. He added that motivating others to join the party will only be possible if there are mutual love and brotherliness among the party members.
Haruna Manu then used the opportunity to tasks the newly sworn in Executives to key into the Rescue Mission of the state Government by supporting all its policies and programs for it to succeed and equally call on the general public to join hands with the present Government to deliver on its campaign promises.
Speaking shortly after being sworn in as the Peoples Democratic Party Chairman for the second time, Hon. Victor Bala Kona said time for proper stocking with the intent of working towards correcting some of the mistakes encountered during the last elections.

Hon. Victor Bala Kona maintained that he is going to run an open door policy where people with ideas that will help move the party forward are welcome and used the opportunity to challenge other Members that have left the party to return and assist in reorganizing the party for the better.
He reiterated his commitment towards working assiduously to carry all members asserting that the newly found slogan calls for collective unity of all members so as to free the people and to firmly hold on to the state as a PDP state and to also win back the country in 2019.
Victor Bala Kona boldly told the crowd that came to witness the inauguration that Tarabans did not make a mistake by electing Darius Ishaku as a Governor going by what he has done, what he is doing and what he will continue to do for the state to move forward and asserted that everyone knows that the Rescue Mission is truly and amazingly working.
The party Chairman maintained that, the era of double standard will longer be accepted by the party and posited that the present administration is determined to carry all Tarabans along devoid of ethnic or religious sentiments and encouraged all to join hands with the present Governor in Rescuing the state and added, Taraba belongs to all Tarabans, and there should be a collective will from all well meaning Tarabans to accord the Rescue Mission the desired support so that it would be able to reach out to all even at the Grassroots.
Earlier in his speech, the North East Zonal Chairman, Ambassador Emmanuel Njiwah thanked members of the PDP family for collectively electing Hon. Victor Bala Kona for the second time and pointed out that Victor Bala Kona is a rare breed who made enormous sacrifices that contributed to the successes recorded by the party in the last general elections.
Amb. Emmanuel Njiwah stated that the collective decision by Tarabans in electing Arc. Darius Dickson Ishaku was the wisest and pointed out that, Darius Ishaku is a blessing to the country. He disclosed that the only two PDP states in the North East are the only states that are prompt and consistent in the payment of salary as well embarking on projects that are of optimum benefit to the people.
He maintained that what PDP desires in this moment of hardship is to reinvigorate with a view to selflessly supporting the party to take over the affairs the affairs of the country and affirmed that PDP is the only solution to the current challenges faced in the country.
The high point of the event was the taking of the oath of office by newly elected Executives presided over by Barr. Nuru Isa Bambur beginning with the state PDP Chairman, Hon. Victor Bala Kona, followed by other members of the newly elected Executives cutting across the three geo-political zones of the State as well as the presentations of certificates.
