Royal fathers have been tasked to work collaboratively with the Rescue Watch Team in their respective domain to drive home the brainchild of the present administration which is titled the Rescue Mission with the focus to make Taraba State one of the top two economies in the North East Region.

Chief of Staff Hon. Rebo UsmanThis was made known in a speech by the Chief of Staff Government House, Hon. Rebo Usman when he paid a courtesy visit to two traditional rulers, the Chief of Zing, Alhaji Suleiman Ibrahim Bala Sambo and the Chief of Yorro, Alhaji Ado Adamu Mazang the Chief of Mumuye to intimate them on the new policy of the present administration that is poised to reposition the state to able to stand on its own.

Rebo Usman stated that, for the Rescue Watch at the Grassroots to be vibrant, the present administration needs the support and cooperation of the Royal fathers that are closer to the people to help further sensitize the people to key into the project.

The Chief of Staff informed the two royal Fathers that to ensure the success of the Rescue Watch, the Taraba State Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku has already constituted two committees, the Revenue and Grassroots committees, comprised of Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants, and Special Assistants to drive home the Rescue Mission Agenda.

Accordingly, he explained that the Revenue Committee will be saddled with task of collecting taxes and channeling it appropriately so that it will help the present administration meet up with its responsibilities to the citizenry while the Grassroots team are tasked to closely monitor Government policies and programs and report back appropriately by engaging people in the monitoring and implementation of Government projects and with a clear cut directives on the two teams to report back to the Chief of Staff who in turn reports to the Governor for appropriate action where necessary.

Similarly, the Chief of Staff maintained that the Purpose of the Rescue Watch is to critically address issues bothering on peace and security, provision of Infrastructural facilities, robust Revenue Generation machinery, rural transformation through the provision of Infrastructure and robust engagement with rural populace for sustained development and economic empowerment and with a clear cut policies aimed at good service delivery and the promotion feedback mechanism.

Rebo Usman pointed out that the state Governor is determined to make Taraba State self-sustaining by evolving ways that the state can earn revenue and added that apart from the Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants and Special Assistants, the services of ad-hoc persons will be required and they will serve as contact persons and as well serve as the eyes of both the Revenue and Grassroots team at each word of the state. With a view to reawakening the people to be steadfast and contribute towards ensuring that Government activities are still carried out with absolute decorum in the state.

In their separate responses, the Kpanti Zing, Alhaji Suleiman Ibrahim Sambo said he supported the present initiative of the state government and expressed his readiness and determination to work committedly by sensitizing the people of his domain to support the current administration.

Suleiman Ibrahim maintained that the art of repositioning the state should not be left in the hands Government alone, but people should support Government so that effective service delivery will also be felt even at the Grassroots.

While the Chief of Mumuye, Alhaji Ado Adamu Mazang said the Rescue Watch is a welcome development and reiterated his determination to personally take the campaign to the Grassroots.
He told the chief of staff that before the oil boom, Nigeria was surviving through tax payment with traditional rulers being used in such exercise and punitive measures were meted on defaulter.

Ado Adamu Mazang asserted that the state could only move forward if people are ready to contribute meaningfully by supporting Government initiative that is meant for the overall benefit of the people and urged people Yorro to embrace and key into the Rescue Mission of the present administration for a better tomorrow.

He lamented that education most especially at the Primary School level has been neglected and used the opportunity to plead with the state government to take serious measures toward addressing the problems of teachers particularly the prompt payment of their salary so as to improve the standard education in the state and said he will work extra hard to encourage the people of his domain to consolidate on the peace being enjoyed in the state and asserted the Mumuye people of Yorro are peaceful people.
