The Taraba state government has issued a statement on the unwholesome development bothering on the indiscriminate use of Taraba state government number plate (TRGH) by some past political office holders and other vehicle holders within and outside the state.
This was contained in a Press Release signed by Iliya Bekyu Akweh (for the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor), stating that Taraba state government is directing those in possession of Taraba state government number plates to surrender them to the Chief Security Officer of the government house or the Transport Officer with immediate effect or face the repercussion.
It was also stipulated that any vehicle using government number plate without authorization will be impounded and prosecuted so as to forestall further breach of the law governing the use of the number plates within and outside Taraba.
To this end, all former political office holders (Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants, Special Assistants etc) who served in previous governments that are still using government number plates are to return them to the officers above as directed.
