Gov. Ishaku in Dominion Farms.Taraba State Governor, Arc. Darius Dickson Ishaku said his administration is determined to explore all avenues to ensure that the owner of Dominion Farms, Calvin Burgess returns back to site and continue with his work.

Governor Darius Ishaku stated this yesterday in Gassol at Dominion Rice farm which has been abandoned for almost three years as a result of insecurity around Gassol area and some parts of the State.

Darius Ishaku told the people that accompanied him and the people of Gassol at the Dominion Farms site that General Theophilus Yakubu Danjuma is not happy that despite spending one and half years as a Governor of the State nothing is being done to bring back Calvin Burgess the owner of Dominion Farms.

He revealed that, he has tried severally to get across to Calvin Burgess to come but all his plea has not yielded any result, adding that, he will not relent until the purpose for which Gassol is selected to produce rice that will feed the nation is realised.

He however assured the people of Gassol that he will do everything possible between now and the next six months for the farmer to return to site so that rice production will commence as soon as possible. 

The Governor posited that with the calibre of machines brought by the farmer, he is confident that at the commencement of rice farming lots of people in the State particularly people of Gassol will be gainfully employed.

Earlier in his speech, the Commissioner of Agriculture, Hon. David Ishaya Kassa said since the inception of the administration of Governor Darius Ishaku, all efforts made  to ensure that the farmer gets back to site has proved abortive, but with the current plans that is being worked out he is confident very soon the people of Gassol will be the happiest people in the State.

The Commissioner used the opportunity to appeal to people of Gassol to support the present administration of Arc. Darius Ishaku so that he will be able work relentlessly for the Dominion Farms to see the light of the day.

In his speech, the Lamdo of Gassol, Alhaji Adamu Ciroma thanked Governor Darius Ishaku for rekindling the hope of people of Gassol and assured him that the people of Gassol will support his current drive aimed at ensuring that the project becomes a reality.

Adamu Ciroma said the project which was started five years ago would have been completed and functional if not for the crisis that engulfed the area and reiterated his resolve to mobilised the people of the area to accord him the needed support, as he used the opportunity to bestow a Chieftaincy title on the Governor, the Makama Gassol.

Governor Darius Ishaku was conducted round the equipment and some of the construction work that were started before the crisis erupted by the project manager of the company, Engr. Daniel Fele.
