Taraba State Governor, Arc. Darius Dickson Ishaku today laid before the hallowed chamber of the Taraba State House of Assembly the sum of one hundred and ten billion, one hundred and sixty eight million, nine hundred and eighty three thousand, nine hundred and fifty two Naira as 2017 appropriation bill for their perusal and subsequent assent.
Governor Darius Ishaku said that, the over one hundred and ten billion is expected to be generated from eight different sources which included, Federal statutory allocation which is projected to generate about Thirty Five Billion, one hundred and seventy two thousand, one hundred and ninety seven Naira, value added tax is proposed to come up with about ten billion Naira and Federal Government Budget Support is expected to generate about six Billion, six hundred Naira.
Similarly, other miscellaneous receipts from the Federation account is projected to generate about two billion, six hundred and seventy two million five hundred and eighty six thousand, three hundred and sixty seven naira, aids and grants will amount to five billion, nine hundred and twenty million, five hundred and twenty three thousand, six hundred and twenty five Naira, which will be generated via development partners and Federal Government refund to State, the projection is put at twenty four billion Naira.
Other anticipated sources also included, are the internal loan Proposal which is put at fifteen billion Naira while external loan is proposed to generate two billion, six hundred and fifty three million, two hundred and thirty two thousand, five hundred and ninety naira.
Consequently, Darius Ishaku disclosed that recurrent expenditure projection is put at forty nine billion, three hundred and twenty five million, two hundred and eighty two thousand, nine hundred thirty one naira, representing 44.77% and capital estimate is pegged at sixty billion, eight hundred and forty three million, seven hundred and one thousand, eleven naira, representing 66.23%.
Governor Darius Ishaku assured the hallowed chamber that in the year 2017 his administration will strive with renewed strength and vigour to make Tarbaba much more better through selfless service.
Speaking before the budget presentation, the Speaker, Taraba State House of Assembly, Hon. Abel Peter Diah assured the Governor that the 2017 appropriation bill will receive accelerated hearing, stressing though they are from different political parties but share common and united interest that is meant to move the State forward.
Hon. Abel Diah stated that the entire members are on the same page with him going by the successes recorded in the 2016 budget, mentioning some of the successes to include the total overhauling of the Highland tea company in Kakara, Sardauna, Viva feedmills Zing, sustained funding of roads and the dualisation of Kona road among others.
