He said the party as a family has agreed to end all legal approaches to the leadership tussle and to seek a lasting and agreeable solution that would fast-track peace and unity in the party.

He stated that the meeting was convened at the instance of former President, Goodluck Jonathan, where all interests in the party were represented to search for the needed solution to the impasse.

The PDP Governors Forum chairman stated thus,“He, Jonathan, is genuinely concerned about what is going on in the party, and he thought that an interactive session with the Governors would contribute significantly to reducing the tension among a various faction of the party.
“We know that there are so many matters before the court, but we believe that a political solution will go a long way to solve this issue”.
“If we believe in this party, we will all be willing and ready to pursue a political solution, which at the end of the day every interest will be well represented. That is the position of this meeting,” he explained.

Accordingly, Governor Ayodele Fayose posited that irrespective of the fact that the matter is before the court, a political solution is the surest and the best approach to holistically end the crisis.

The Ekiti state Governor reiterated the forum’s resolve with an assurance to all the PDP supporters that the Governors believed in the party as well in its success, and called on members and the entire PDP supporters to desist from making unguided and inflammatory comments that could ridicule the reconciliatory initiative of the former President, thereby, worsening the crisis in the party.
