Taraba Governor, Darius Ishaku has said work on the Jalingo Ultra Modern Abattoir project would soon be completed.
Ishaku stated this yesterday in Barkin Dutse, Ardo Kola Local Government Area during a stakeholders meeting with the people of the area in continuation of his thank you tour of Local Lovernment Areas in the State.
Ishaku who rounded up the tour of Northern Zone with a meeting with stakeholders from Ardo Kola and Jalingo Local Government Areas said the present abattoir lacks the basic standard and pledged timely completion of the modern abattoir to serve the people better.
The Governor told the people that his administration was doing its best to serve them better and called for prayers, unity and peaceful coexistence among the people for development to thrive.
“The projects you want me to do are many, but at my age I can’t stand here and lie to you. There are no funds, but I will look at your requests critically and execute those projects that are of priority now.
“We can’t be dependent on federation account from Abuja to service our bills and execute projects, that’s why I embarked on the Green House project which will soon begin to give us revenue,” he said.
Earlier, State Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Victor Bala Kona called on the people of the two Local Government Areas to support the Governor and the party for the development of the State.
“Politics is like an investment and you get reward base on your investment. I want to warn the stakeholders from Jalingo to do their homework well and mobilise support for the party ahead of 2019.
“You cannot be complaining that the party is not rewarding you when you did not vote for the party. Jalingo has always been in opposition and it is time for you to get your people back in the mainstream,” he said.
Stakeholders had during the meeting called on the Governor to open up rural roads in the Local Governments and sink boreholes among other projects for them.
