Digital Learning is to be introduced in Schools in Northern States of the Country to make students of the region digitally compliant.

This was revealed by Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku while fielding questions from Journalists at the Jalingo Airport recently on the outcome of their interactive seminar with PROFUTURO Group.

The seminar, which was chaired by the Chairman of the Northern Governors Forum, Kashim Shettima in Abuja, focused on introducing Digital Learning in Northern Nigeria.

Darius Ishaku remarked that, the interactive session took into cognisance the importance of Education in the society and stressed that it is the most critical sector that every society needs to take seriously for it to develop and forge ahead.

The Governor said PROFUTURO Group based in Spain, is poised to collaborate with Northern States Governors to improve the quality of education, particularly, in Digital Learning, which is the global practice.

He stated that, the interactive seminar brainstormed on issues affecting most schools in Northern Nigeria, saying that, most learning institutions, particularly, Primary and Secondary Schools functions below average which is a serious problem that needs Government, stakeholders and Non Governmental Organisations to intervene with a view to revitalising learning in the region.

Governor Darius Ishaku mentioned that, the Northern Governors Forum led by the Chairman commended the Catholic Mission for the establishment of schools and giving all equal opportunities to all, not minding the tribe or religion one belongs.

He said, there is need to key into such beautiful ideology of the Catholic Mission.

Accordingly, Darius Ishaku said the Managing Director of the PROFUTURO Foundation, Sofia Fernandes assured the forum that, the organization is going to work jointly with the Governors and the schools to achieve the desired results.

While requesting the support of professionals in the field of education, he stressed that, the main objective of PROFUTURO Foundation is to give opportunity to children by inculcating in them qualitative Education.

He disclosed that, the Governors and the Managing Director of the Foundation, have agreed that teachers would be equipped with digital Learning tools to meet the aims and objectives of the programme.

The interactive seminar was initiated by the Roman Catholic Church from the Vatican city with the Catholic Archbishop of Kaduna Diocese, Matthew Dangoso and his counterpart from Catholic Diocese of Sokoto, Mathew Kukah, representing the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria.

Governor Darius Ishaku said the Catholic Bishops also restated the desire of the mission to redouble its efforts in rejuvenating the educational sector of Northern Nigeria for the better.
