Taraba state Governor, Arc. Darius Dickson Ishaku has saluted the courage resilience and doggedness of Senator designate, Alhaji Shuaibu Isa Lau, which eventually culminated into his victory at the supreme Court on Friday.
Governor Darius Ishaku said this at the Exco Chamber Government House Jalingo when the Senator designate of Northern Taraba paid a courtesy visit and to intimate him on his victory at the supreme Court in Abuja, saying the judgment was the will of God.
Darius Ishaku commended him on his determination to fight his course to a logical conclusion and posited that such attitude should be emulated by politicians of sound minds in order to put a stop to impunities and injustices in the nation’s polity to provide a level playing field for all and sundry.
He advised him to carry along with him the people that stood by him during his struggle and be opened to constructive criticisms as well as being prayerful at all times, particularly, now that he is representing about six local Government areas as his constituency in the red chamber of the national Assembly.
The Governor praised his resolved to remain in the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, to fight his course which has finally paid off and asserted that the umbrella is big enough to carry him and his teaming supporters on board.
He used the forum to invite him to as a matter of urgency join the rescue team to work for the people of the state and make it a better place for all Tarabans.
Governor Darius Ishaku told the Senator designate that what the state needed most now is peace and called on him to assist in preaching Peace in his constituency, explaining that with peace development will thrive maximally and assured him of the state Government’s support at all times.
Speaking during the visit, the State Party Chairman, Hon. Victor Bala Kona said he should see the judgment as the will of God and that only God gives and takes power, saying that, what happened is a thing of joy because the senatorial seat is still that of the PDP and likened it to a struggle between twins of the same father.
Victor Bala encouraged him to see his victory as means to promote unity among people of northern Taraba and to accord maximum support to the state Governor so that collaboratively they would be able to take state to an enviable height.
He maintained that he should also liaise with the former Senator so that he can also tap from his experience.
Earlier in his speech, the Senator designate, Alhaji Shuaibu Isa Lau told the Governor that he has come to inform him of his victory and to assured him of his unalloyed loyalty and to the party as well as a new and vibrant member of the rescue mission.
Shuaibu Isa remarked that he has been a founding member of the PDP in the state and will continue to remain in the party to contribute his his quota to the growth and development of the state.
He said he is on a mission to bring back aggrieved members who left the party and to also recruit more members for the party, stressing that, the shade of the umbrella is big enough to contain all.
