Late Governor Suntai’s Burial
Taraba state Governor, Arc. Darius Dickson Ishaku has acknowledged and appreciated all those who commiserated with the Government and people of Taraba state on the sudden death the former Governor, Danbaba Danfulani Suntai.
The Governor revealed this in a Press Release signed by the Executive Governor of Taraba state, Darius Dickson Ishaku, where he thanked those that made out time to attend the funeral ceremonies held in Jalingo and Suntai, the home town of the late former Governor.
The Governor stated in the Release that he was deeply touched by the show of love, sympathy and solidarity with the Government, people of the state and indeed the immediate family of late Former Governor Suntai by eminent personalities from all parts of the country.
Accordingly, Governor Darius Ishaku also thanked the Governors of Ekiti state, Ayodele Peter Fayose, Ibrahim Dankwambo of Gombe state and Simon Lalong of Plateau state.
Others were Senator Jonah David Jang, former Governor of defunct Gongola state and immediate past Governor of Plateau state and a serving Senator in the upper chamber of the National Assembly; Rev. Jolly Nyame, the former Governor of Taraba state and former Governor of Benue state, Gabriel Suswam.
Also contained in the Release included first Military Administrator of Taraba state, Commodore Ambrose Adeyemi Afolahan, Boni Haruna, the former Governor of Adamawa state, all serving Deputy Governors and former Deputy Governors as well as representatives of state Governors that were present during State burial of late former Governor Suntai.
The Press Release equally appreciated members of both Federal and states Executive councils, members of the National Assembly, Speaker and members of the state House of Assembly, the state Chief Judge and members of the Judiciary in the state.
National and state leaders of the People’s Democratic Party PDP, all Bishops, Pastors, Imam and other anointed men of God, traditional rulers, members of the Diplomatic Corps and all other important personalities and groups too numerous to be listed.
Similarly, the Governor appreciated the massive turnout of the good people of Taraba state to honour our political departed leader, friend and brother and also thanked those that lined up along the routes, beginning from the Airport to the personal residence of the late Former Governor, all towns, and villages through which the convoy accompanying the corpse to his country home and final resting home passed.
Governor Darius Ishaku through the release acknowledged the active role played by members of of Taraba state Executive Council, the state House of Assembly and former state council members under the late Former Governor Suntai since the news of the death of the former Governor was broken to the state, as well as being part of the valedictory Executive Council session held in honour of late former Governor Danbaba Danfulani Suntai.
As contained in the Press Release, the Governor thanked them for the kind words they said about late Governor Suntai during the valedictory session.
Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku commended security agencies in the state for their dedication, commitment and the extra vigilance they displayed throughout the two ceremonies, the Press for good and effective publicity during the events and the Central Planning Committee for a job well done.
