His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Taraba state, Arc. Darius Dickson Ishaku has appealed to the people of Donga Local Government Area to be pateint as his administration is working assiduously to turn the area to an Agricultural Haven in the state.

The Governor said this at CRC-N No1 Donga during the Christmas service, pointing out that Donga to Tunari has a fertile ground for the cultivation of rice and called on the people to form themselves into cooperative societies as that is the only way they will be adequately supported by the government.

He informed the congregation that about 14,700 farmers have been identified in some parts of the state, urging them to as a matter of urgency key, into improved rice farming, most especially the dry season farming to better their livelihood and boost economic activities in the area.

Governor Ishaku maintained that his major task at the moment is to renovate all health facilities across the state so that the health needs of the citizenry will be given priority with promptness and efficiency so that the people can contribute in the rebuilding process of the state, averring that, it would only be possible if the health needs of the people is effectively cartered and taken care of.

The governor revealed that his intervention in the health sector is gradually paying off as Wukari General Hospital has been reconstructed, renovated, fully equipped with state of the art facilities and commissioned, disclosing that similar work has commenced in both Bambur General Hospital in Karim Lamido Local Government area and in Gembu General Hospital Sardauna local government area and mentioned that all hospitals in the state have been earmarked for renovations, but said the work will be carried out when the financial musle of the state improves and stabilizes.

The two projects in Donga local government area that would soon receive immediate government attentions are the road from Donga to Mararaba and Government Science Secondary School Donga, but however said some of the projects mentioned would be immediately attended if there is refund from the Federal Government for some of the federal roads rehabilitated by Taraba state Government.

He used the opportunity to appreciate the people of Donga for the massive support they accorded him during the first and second elections and solicited for similar support or more come 2019.

Earlier in his sermon, the President of Christian Reformed Church of Nigeria CRC-N, Dr. Caleb Ahima admonished christians not to be afraid of things that are not godly, explaining that certain things happens to test our faith.

Dr. Caleb Ahima who took his scriptural reading from the book of Luke 1: 34 – 35 said sometimes good things makes us to be afraid, giving example of blesseth Mary who was afraid when the angel of God brought her the good message of the birth of Christ and challenged Christians to always see Christmas as a period not to be reckless but a time to draw close to God.

He said the world nowadays is threatened by one problem or the other, citing American President Donald Trump and North Korea, Israel, Bokoharam and the endless fuel scarcity in the country. He encouraged all to always trust in the Supremacy of Jesus Christ in order to do away with fear positing that, as long as God is on the throne, he will always be there for us.

The CRC-N President commended Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku for enacting the prohibition of open grazing in the state, stressing that it will bring to an end the grazers and farmers endless clashes and the senseless killings in the state.

Dr. Ahima said during Christmas, christians are expected to celebrate faith and the love of God.

The Governor also paid homage to the Chief of Donga, Dr. Stephen Bayonga, Garbosa ll and further held consultations with political stakeholders in the area.
