Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku of Taraba State is unhappy that some people in the state were still bent on causing crisis despite the efforts of his administration to promote peace and forgiveness among the people.

The governor made the remarks on Friday when he granted audience to the people of Bandawa Community at Government House, Jalingo.

He reminded the people of his popular mantra – “Give me peace and I will give you Development “and noted that his administration had made remarkable progress in the area of development but that he was unhappy that peace was till being occasionally threatened by mischief makers who profit from the crises in the state.

Gov. Ishaku assured that God will expose and punish such elements in and outside the state.

He reminded the people on the need to show love to one another and eschew bitterness. “Our land is very fertile. The resources in the state are limitless. There is no need to fight and kill yourselves over these resources,” he said.

He said that as Governor, his mandate is to protect people of all religious, ethnic and political backgrounds and promised to do so with the highest sense of commitment.

The governor urged the people to engage more in rice farming this year and assured that government would triple its support for farmers in that sector this year.

Speaking earlier, Barr. Ampani Bandawa thanked Gov. Ishaku for promoting the Bandawa Community to a district and promised him the support of the entire Bandawa for his re-election in 2019.
