
Mr. Mellah Orngu – The substantive Clerk of the House
The Taraba State House of Assembly has sworn Mr. Mellah Orngu as the substantive Clerk of the House, after the retirement of the the former Clerk, Mr. Ukwen Tentason who retired in December last year.
Speaker of the House, Hon. Abel Diah read the letter from the House of Assembly Service Commission requesting the confirmation of Mr. Mellah Orngu as the substantive Clerk of the House during Monday plenary.
Diah after reading the citation of the Clerk put the question for his confirmation through a voice vote which unanimously got the endorsement of the house.
While congratulating the new Clerk on his confirmation as substantive Clerk after acting in the capacity for four months, the Speaker urged the Clerk to improve on the successes recorded by his predecessor.
Abel used the forum to call on the people of the state to be their brother’s keepers and work towards peaceful coexistence for the growth and development of the State.
The newly sworn in Clerk has been in the Taraba State House of Assembly as Deputy Clerk since the year 2000, a position he held until December last year when he was appointed Acting Clerk.
