In a renewed bid to cushion the hardship of the Ramadan fast, the Speaker of the Taraba State House of Assembly, Hon. Abel Peter Diah, has donated food items to Muslims of his constituency in Sardauna Local Government Area.
The Speaker stated that the gesture was done to uphold the objective of the Ramadan which is, sharing with the less privileged and to show his support to his own people.
He stated candidly, “ I cannot give you all you need during this spiritual period, but the little I provide is to support you during this fast as one of the objectives of the exercise is sharing with the less Privileged.
“My request to our Muslim faithfuls during this time is a plea for the maintenance of the sacredness of this holy month. Let us pray for peace so that we can have a united Mbamnga Constituency, Sardauna Local Government Area, Taraba State and the Country at large.
“Let us also not forget to pray for our leaders both traditional and political so they can succeed in their efforts as they keep working for a United and prosperous nation” he pleaded.
The food items were distributed to the eight wards and 48 polling units in his constituency.
