Taraba State Governor, Arc. Darius Ishaku on Monday announced the sponsorship of 300 Muslims to this year’s hajj in Saudi Arabia.
The Governor made the announcement at Model Primary School Jalingo, while bidding farewell to the 764 intending pilgrims from the state.
While congratulating the intending pilgrims, the Governor urged them to pray fervently for peace in the state and the country.
He warned the intending pilgrims to stay away from any thing which will go contrary to the Saudi laws and be good ambassadors of the state while in the land.
Responding, the State Amirul Hajj for 2018 and Former Minister of Commerce, Amb. Waziri Idris thanked the Governor for the opportunity given to him to lead the pilgrims, saying the pilgrims will do the state proud.
“I wish to pledge on behalf of the pilgrims that they will all be good ambassadors of Taraba state while in Saudi Arabia.
“I want to thank the Governor for sponsoring 300 pilgrims despite the lean resources coming to the state.
“So, I urged you all to make His Excellency and Taraba State proud,” he admonished.
