Governor Ishaku has attributed his emergence as the sole candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, to the belief Tarabans have in him.
Speaking to Journalists after the State delegates gave him an overwhelming vote, he stated that he was delighted with the results adding that it was a clear sign of the love citizens had for him and the belief that he had delivered the first phase of the dividends of democracy.
He further stressed that the next phase of his administration would be to merge on the gains so far and break more grounds.
“I’m deeply touched by the support of Tarabans most especially our party the PDP for finding me worthy of another shot at the Government House”.
“Indeed Tarabans have spoken and it’s now time to hit the road and get everyone to come out en mass and vote for our party both at State and the national levels”. He noted.
Governor Darius Ishaku has emerged as the sole candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in next year’s Taraba gubernatorial election.
Announcing the result, after the delegates election which took place at the main-bowl of the Jolly Nyame stadium, the returning officer, Captain Idris Wadda said accredited voters were Two Thousand.
He declared that having polled the highest votes of one Thousand Nine Hundred and Twenty Eight votes,Governor Darius Ishaku returned duly elected as the only candidate of the People’s Democratic Party in the 2019 Taraba gubernatorial election.
Idris Wadda thanked delegates in the State who exhibited exemplary character and maturity that made the Congress end peacefully.
The returning officer also commended Governor Ishaku for initiating viable developmental programs in the State which has endeared him to Tarabans.
In his vote of thanks, Governor Darius Ishaku expressed appreciation to Idris Wadda for the smooth conduct of the election which ended peacefully.
He said “democracy can only thrive in a peaceful atmosphere and not rigging”. He also saluted members of the PDP for maintaining orderliness and discipline.
Following the demise of the First Mbonduah of Kabri Chiefdom, Alhaji Garba Julde Wakili Kabri, an acting Mbonduah in person Alhaji Auwal Hammanjulde has been appointed.
Speaking during the event, the Acting Chairman of Sardauna LGA, Hon Rev. Godwill T. Sol urged the people of Kabri to be calm and support the Acting Mbonduah of Kabri, so they can live in peace and harmony.
The acting chairman also thanked Governor Darius Ishaku for being there for Sardauna LGA during the difficult moment.
The Governor who was represented by a delegation headed by the director Bureau for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs joined thousands of sympathizers to mourn the late third Class Chief of Kabri Chiefdom.
He described the death of the Mbonduah as a great loss not only to the people of Sardauna LGA but also the State. He noted that the late Chief was a man of reputable character embodied with good leadership qualities which earned him the position of the First Third Class Chief of Kabri.
He however regretted that the Mbonduah had to leave in a time like this when his distinct qualities were needed most in the Kabri traditional council.
Responding on behalf of the Kabri traditional council, the Acting Mbonduah Alhaji Auwal Hamajulde appreciated His Excellency for the love shown to Kabri Chiefdom during the trying moment.
He noted that the entire chiefdom lacked words to express its heartfelt gratitude to the state government but prayed God to bless everyone who identified with them.
Before his appointment, Alhaji Auwal Hammanjulde was the Ngwa of Kabri and Secretary Sarduana Ngwa’s Forum and hails from Kabri Chana of Kabri Chiefdom.
The People’s Democratic Party Presidential aspirant, Ahmed Makarfi has vowed to set in motion the restructuring of the country in view of the many problems facing the nation specifically insecurity, power sharing and corruption.

Makarfi also gave the assurance that he would detach the anti corruption agencies now used by the present administration to intimidate citizens.
The aspirant stated this at the Excos chambers of the Government House Jalingo while soliciting support from the Governor and people of the state ahead of the forthcoming PDP Presidential primaries.
He saluted the courage of Governor Darius Ishaku in brokering peace within the PDP stressing that Governor Ishaku played a vital role in the PDP power tussle that saw him emerge as party chairman against Ali Modu Sheriff.
The aspirant also assured students of his resolve to create students’ loan scheme payable after they have secured jobs, an arrangement that he maintained would make government create multiple jobs.
He thanked the wife of the Governor, Anna Darius Ishaku who served meticulously as Permanent Secretary when he was governor of Kaduna State and thanked people of the State for their warm reception.
Responding, Governor Ishaku described Ahmed Maikarfi as a calm, detribalised and frank fellow that has worked relentlessly to maintain peace in the PDP.
The Governor maintained that the calmness of Maikarfi has helped in strengthening the PDP and pleaded with him and other aspirants to accept whatever would be the outcome of the primaries and place the party on a solid ground to wrestle power from the APC.
He emphasized that the PDP remains the party that has the capacity to keep up nationhood amid many problems which the present leadership has failed to keep up.
Governor Ishaku who is the Vice Chairman of the PDP National convention assured him of a fair playing ground in the party primaries.
The Taraba State Government under the leadership of His Excellency Governor Darius Ishaku, the T.Y Danjuma foundation and other concerned bodies have commenced free medical services around the State .
The program which has been going on in places like Wukari has brought succour to thousands of citizens and restored health to the less privileged.
The Deputy Governor of the State, Engr Haruna Manu who represented the Governor today on a supervision visit said the program had come to stay because the Governor takes delight in the health of Tarabans. Hence, he would not relent in making sure they live healthier lives.
Manu expressed satisfaction with what he saw at the center saying the Doctors were doing their best and urged the people to corporate with them to get needed assistance.
He thanked other partnering bodies for joining hands with the State government in bringing better health to the people and stressed that government of Governor Darius was always open to anyone who comes into the State to contribute to its development.
