Alhaji Aminu Waziri Tambuwal a PDP presidential aspirant and the present Governor of Sokoto State today visited Taraba to canvass for delegates’ votes ahead of October 6 National Convention.
He was received by the Deputy Governor of Taraba State, Engr. Haruna Manu and the party chairman, Hon Victor Bala Kona.
The deliberation which took place at the Government House executive chambers had in attendance top government functionaries, the speaker Taraba State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Abel Peter Diah and party faithful.
Tambuwal stressed that Nigeria needed a leader who could stand up to the challenges facing it’s citizens and not one who saw one better than others.
He said he was optimistic that if given the party ticket, he would run an all inclusive government which would in turn bring positive growth to the Nation.
He described APC as a failed government which is Specialized in witch-hunting the opposition but assured the PDP of his commitment to ensuring that power changes base in 2019 for a better and united Nigeria.
Tambuwal thanked the good people of Taraba and the party for the warm reception given him and said he could not forget the gesture in a hurry.
Responding, Engr. Haruna Manu said he had no doubt that Tambuwal could lead the country to greater paths than it is today. Manu said Tambuwal had got all the credentials to be the number one citizen of this country considering that he had served in different public offices.
He assured Tambuwal of the total commitment of Taraba State delegates in making the best choice to represent the party in the 2019 presidential elections.
The Deputy Governor disclosed that the party would consult widely with the entire members and stakeholders of the party in coming up with the best decision on who to support which would be related to him in due course.
