Taraba State Governor Darius Ishaku has assured the people of the Mambilla Plateau that his administration is doing everything within its power to make sure their safety.

He made the declaration at the presentation of relief materials to victims of the crisis that rocked the area last year.

Governor Ishaku disclosed that his administration was keen on ensuring citizens live in peace with one another and promised improved security to the people for lasting peace.

“There is no way development can come to you without an enabling environment. If there is recurring and avoidable man made crisis, you cannot grow. You must attempt to be your brother’s keeper and be willing to expose and report all fabricators of the incessant clashes we have witnessed to security agencies”.

He stressed on the need for citizens of Sardauna Local Government area to take advantage of the relative peace that has returned to the troubled zone and engage in economic activities that will attract more development to the region.

“I am not unaware of the losses you have suffered. Human lives cannot be replaced but I am not here to pay compensation to victims of the unfortunate crisis but to reduce the hardship you have undergone with a promise to help you get your lives back”.

Governor Ishaku seized the opportunity to announce the construction of the second hydro dam in Kakara to boost power supply to the Highland Tea factory in the area.
