Governor Darius Ishaku has commended the patriotic sacrifice of the Nigerian Armed Force6s and legionaries to the father land.

He noted that the Nigerian Armed Forces had distinguished themselves in maintaining peace in Sierra Leone, Liberia while stressing their gallant efforts to ending Insurgency in the Northeast despite daunting challenges.

Ishaku who made the remarks after the wreath laying ceremony as part of activities to mark the Day extolled the sacrifices of the falling heroes and reaffirmed that their sacrifice would never be in vain.

Governor Ishaku promised to sponsor Christian and Muslim legionaries to the holy land as well as buying a bus and renovating their office.

Commenting, Chairman Nigerian Legion Taraba State chapter, assured the Governor of their total support during the upcoming gubernatorial election.

The ceremony featured colourful parade by Men of the Nigerian Army from Serti Baruwa and Takum, release of pigeons as well as special prayers and laying of wreath by Governor Ishaku, Deputy Governor Haruna Manu, Speaker Taraba State House of Assembly Abel Peter Diah and State Chief Judge Josephine Tuktur .
