Prompt payment of workers salaries and pensions in the State is one of the remarkable achievements of the Darius Ishaku led administration.
Caretaker Chairman of the Nigerian Union of Pensioners Taraba State Chapter, Kefas Katan made the disclosure when they paid a courtesy visit to Governor Darius Ishaku at the Government House Jalingo.
He said salaries of workers and pensions been owed some of their colleagues in other states run into billions and expressed satisfaction that salaries and pensions are been paid promptly in Taraba State.
Katan, thanked Governor Ishaku for releasing One Hundred Million Naira for the payment of gratuity and pleaded with him to increase the amount to reach out to many of the retirees.
He also applauded Governor Ishaku for enrolling retirees mostly local government pensioners on pension payroll including next of kins of deceased retirees.
The Chairman made a passionate appeal to Governor Ishaku to renovate their secretariat and give them a bus that would help to make them work effectively and carry out activities that would improve the welfare of their members.
Responding, Governor Ishaku said the payment of gratuity would be done in batches assuring the retirees that the payment would continue.
He intimated them of the twelve months arrears he met on ground which he cleared and emphasized that his administration is up to date on the payments of salaries and pensions.
The Governor renewed his commitment to do more for the people of the State if re-elected into office.
Governor Ishaku again urged Tarabans to vote and protect their vote in the upcoming general elections.
