With the Presidential election a mere few days away, a coalition of Niger Delta Forum Taraba State chapter and Adamawa State indigenes resident in Taraba, turned out in their numbers to support the re-election bid of Governor Darius Ishaku.
According to the speaker of the Niger Delta forum, Pius Osita Onyeama, the support showed to Governor Ishaku was borne out of the bold steps he had taken in ensuring the security of lives and property of residents in the State.
He attributed the relative peace in the State to the dogged determination of the Governor to make Taraba State a safe haven for non indigenes and indigenes alike.
“This is where we earn our livelihood and as such, we have seen how security has been made a cardinal aim of your administration and the relative peace in the State is a testament to the firm belief we have in your leadership abilities and we believe that you deserve a second tenure as Governor”.
Mr. Onyeama assured the Governor of the forum’s readiness to deliver a block vote for the PDP presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar and Governor Ishaku come February 16 and March 2nd.
Meanwhile, Adamawa State indigenes resident in Taraba also came out in their numbers to support Governor Ishaku’s re-election bid and assured him of their allegiance and support for for him.
Responding, Governor Darius Ishaku, expressed joy over the show of solidarity and assured the group that his administration’s cardinal objective which is enthroning lasting peace and development in the State will be strictly adhered to.
He assured them of their safety and urged them to go out and vote and make sure they guard their votes. He added that his administration would leave no stone unturned in making Taraba safe for all and sundry.
“The show of love and support you have demonstrated today should be replicated at the polling center. Make sure you go out very early and make sure you vote and not just vote, but guard your votes and make sure your votes are counted”.
