With barely 72 hours to the gubernatorial elections, a Jalingo based political group IMAM DDI OJIPATA (No Going Down) has thrown its weight behind Governor Darius Ishaku’s re-election bid in a brief ceremony at Yamusala, Jalingo.
According to the Coordinator and former member representing Jalingo1 in the Taraba state House of Assembly, Hon. Ibrahim Imam, the Ojipata movement is aimed at ensuring Governor Ishaku doesn’t go down but stays on track for a second term.
He assured Governor Ishaku of the overwhelming support of his people who have decided to stand with him and cast their votes massively when the polls open on Saturday 9th March, 2019.
Hon. Imam who defected from the All Progressive Congress (APC) with his supporters to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) promised to mobilize his teeming supporters to come out enmass and vote for Governor Ishaku.
In his remarks, Governor Ishaku expressed joy over the show of solidarity from the group and urged them to go out and vote for PDP. He promised to sink a bore hole in the community as requested by the residents.
In a related development, Governor Ishaku received members of the APC who decamped to the PDP. He assured them that the PDP will carry them along.
