Taraba residents voting in today’s supplementary election across various polling units in Sunkani and Serkin Duste in Ardo-kola LGA and Kpambo Puri, Kwesati wards in Ussa LGA on Saturday commended the Independent National Electoral Commission,INEC, over peaceful conduct of the election.

As early as 7:00 am, INEC adhoc staff were across the polling units in the two Local Government Areas where supplementary election took place.

At the Adamu Chamber polling unit 001 in Sunkani ward, voting commenced exactly 8:00 am and voters were excited as INEC officials and electoral materials arrived the polling unit on time.

At Jauro Ibrahim polling unit 005 under Bekin Duste ward, voters were seen casting their votes at about 8:05 am.

An electorate, Mallam Ibrahim Abdulahi, who voted at Adamu Chamber polling unit expressed satisfaction over the conduct of both INEC staff and the voters.

He however decried the stress of coming back to vote for the second time and advised INEC to conclude the process and announce the winner.

Taraba State Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Hon. Victor Bala-Kona who spoke with journalists at his Barkin Dutse country home described the election as peaceful.

“The election is very peaceful. l appreciate INEC for early commencement of the supplementary election, I also appreciate the people of Ardo-kola for their orderliness so far.”

Our correspondent reports that the election was generally peaceful in Ussa and Ardo-Kola, with high voter turnout.
