Hope Afresh Foundation Taraba (HAFT) has commenced the flag-off ceremony towards free provisions of Artificial Limbs to Amputees in the state.

This is in collaboration with Centre for Advocacy for Persons with Disabilities and Tolaram Charity Foundation.

H.E Barr. Mrs. Anna Ishaku ( CEO – HAFT), graciously represented by the foundation’s administrative officer, Barr. Mrs. Dashe Nun-Rimam said history has been made today with the commendable efforts of the Governor’s wife as over 400 beneficiaries will be attended to. The exercise which started with the first phase on measurements of the various limbs of all participants will continue through out the week.

The National President Centre for Advocacy For Person with Disabilities (APWD), Mrs. Omotunde Ellen Thompson said that there is ability for any disability because she stands as a living testimony because she has been handicapped from the age of five. She said a disabled person is still full of potentials and all he or she needs is encouragement from genuine people like Her Excellency who has sought to reduce their handicapping conditions for a more meaningful life.

In his vote of thanks, Mr. Obadiah Musa, Permanent Secretary Ministry of Health Taraba state, appreciated the initiative of the Governor’s wife and her partners in rendering selfless service to the wellbeing of handicaps in the state. He further encouraged staff of HAFT to always see such work as a call to the hopeless rather than duty.
