In an effort to combat drug abuse and illicit drug trafficking, Taraba state government in collaboration with the NDLEA have destroyed illicit drugs worth over 200 million naira in Jalingo, Taraba state.
The drugs were set on fire by His Excellency Engr. Haruna Manu who represented the Executive Governor, His Excellency, Arch. Darius Dickson Ishaku.
The Commandant NDLEA, Mr. Peter Onche Odaudu said these drugs were confiscated from dealers who smuggles them into the state for their selfish reasons.
The drugs range from tramadol of over 364 kilograms and worth over 50 million naira, cannabis sativa of over 367.606 kilograms, seven tones of deadly weeds popular known as wee-wee and other drugs.
He appreciated the state government for their support in fighting this menace which has eaten deep into the lives of our youths.
The commandant said it is worthwhile to appreciate the captain of the rescue mission for his quantifiable and unflinching assistance to the Command and dependable ally on the war against drug abuse and illicit drug trafficking.
