Senator Aisha Jummai Alhassan congratulating Governor Ishaku on his victory at the Tribunal.
The election petition tribunal sitting in Abuja has dismissed the petition by Professor Sani Yahaya against Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku on two solid ground.
On the first ground the tribunal revealed that the All Progressive Congress did not have a candidate in the last gubernatorial election in the state therefore lacked the capacity to challenge the winner of the election.
It stated that the said Professor Sani Yahaya cannot petition the winner of the election Governor Ishaku after the APC candidate Sani Abubakar Danladi was disqualified by the Supreme Court since he did not take part in all election processes.
The tribunal described the petition as dead on arrival.
On the second ground of alleged non compliance with set electoral laws the tribunal disclosed that the APC were unable to establish their facts as its witness could not cover substantial parts of the Polling units in the state during the March 2019 gubernatorial election.
