The Second phase of Ayem Akpatuma 2 is to commence in the state by the Nigerian Army in collaboration with other security outfit in the state.

The disclosure was made by the General Officer Commanding Three Division of the Nigeria Army Jos, Nuhu Angbazo who was represented by Brigadier General Briggs Daniel during a courtesy visit to Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku at the Government House Jalingo.

He revealed that division training day a prelude to the commencement of the exercise is scheduled for Thursday tenth of October twenty nineteen inviting Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku to inaugurate some machines to be used.

The GOC thanked Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku for his continuous support to the Nigeria Military.

Speaking, Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku asked the Military to be diligent in the discharge of their responsibility and ensure that they deal with bandits carrying guns than arresting villagers who carry knives, bows and arrows.

The Governor expressed worries over the increasing level of kidnapping despite death sentence law that has been passed in the state.

He advised Military hierarchy in the Country to equip the Military to be combat ready to deal decisively with criminals, kidnappers and bandits.

Governor Darius Ishaku expressed happiness on their presence in the state and pledged his commitment to supporting their assignment.

It could be recalled that the first phase of Ayem Akpatuma, tagged cat race Military exercise was established on the twentieth of February two thousand and eighteen and officially ended in Taraba, Benue and Kogi on May fifteenth twenty eighteen and was designed to deal with internal security in Takum, Ibbi, Wukari Local Government Areas and other parts of the state.

The Nigeria Army stationed in the State for the exercise are expected to stay for three months.
