It is unfortunate that a normal disciplinary action taken against a recalcitrant student of the Taraba State University is generating unnecessary controversy on social media.

Withdrawn University studentOur information is that one Joseph Israel, a student of Taraba State University had his admission cancelled for refusing to complete admission formalities as required by the laws of the university.

Rather than seek to confirm from the University if the student obeyed the University’s rules on admission or not, we have only seen an attempt to turn the disobedient student into a hero by dragging His Excellency, the Governor of Taraba State, Arc. Darius Ishaku into an issue which, obviously, has nothing to do with him.

We reject such dubious and fraudulent attempt to seek relevance and sympathy.
I wish to state for the records, that Governor Ishaku is not aware that Joseph Israel has been a critic of his administration.

Secondly, the Governor is not against being criticized by his subjects because he sees criticism as a tonic for good governance if done in good faith. Therefore, he would not, and did not, ask for the expulsion of Joseph Israel or any student for that matter, for criticizing his administration.

Governor Ishaku, therefore, has nothing to do with the expulsion of Joseph Israel and would not want his name dragged into a matter as insignificant as the misdemeanor of 100 level student.

The Governor is too busy to pay attention to what a 100 level student is doing with his phone on the internet.
