PDP Governors Forum: Gov. Ishaku, Other Northeast Governors Attends Meeting

The People’s Democratic Party Governors Forum (PDP-GF) Wednesday held its first meeting under the leadership of the Sokoto state governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal.

The meeting, which lasted for about three hours, was held at Shehu Shagari House, the Sokoto state governor’s lodge in Asokoro, Abuja.

At its close, Governor Tambuwal told journalists that the forum discussed matters of its national spread and development, how it would be strengthened to meet future political challenges and myriads of issues affecting the nation.

Also, a communique issued by the forum and signed by Governor Tambuwal, while congratulating the party over the recent Supreme Court verdict that brought Senator Diri Duoye and his Deputy, Senator Lawrence Ewhruojakpo to power, applauded the apex court’s affirmation of the November 2019 Bayelsa State Gubernatorial Elections.

While ushering Senator Duoye into the meeting and the forum, the body expressed joy that the Supreme Court was not misled to change its earlier judgement.

The party expressed hope that justice will be done in the case of the Imo State Governorship election by returning the rightful winner of the election, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha as Governor of Imo State to office.

“We request the Supreme Court to also in the spirit of fairplay, reverse its decision in the Imo State Governorship as a result of the extraordinary circumstances that attended the decision,” the communique noted.

The forum also approved the appointment of Governor Victor Ikpeazu of Abia state as the Deputy Chairman.

In attendance were the National Chairman of the PDP, Prince Uche Secondus and governors of Abia, Adamawa, Akwa Ibom, Bauchi, Bayelsa, Delta and Taraba states respectively.

The governor of Zamfara was represented by his Deputy, Barrister Mahdi Aliyu Muhammad.

Other stakeholders at the meeting were some members of the PDP National Working Committee (NWC).

Another of Elsudi’s Senseless Talk From His Bag of Lies

Another of Elsudi’s Senseless Talk From His Bag of Lies

The Taraba State chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Ibrahim Elsudi has pulled yet another one from his bag of lies.

This time it is a spurious allegation on a supposed N20 billion loan Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku was supposed to have taken without the consent of the Taraba State House of Assembly and against the wishes of some Local Government chairmen.

Lies, lies and lies. El-Sudi is always in the habit of under rating the level of intelligence and understanding of the Taraba people. He’s doing so again with this present wild allegation of a non-existing attempt by the Governor to obtain a N20 billion loan through the back door.

It’s impossible, and El–Sudi who is a lawyer knows that there is no way the state government can obtain a loan of this magnitude without the consent of the Legislature. He should stop insulting the good people of Taraba State.

For the avoidance of doubt, there was never an attempt by the Taraba State government to take the said loan.

The act of obtaining loans by the government is not a crime as El-Sudi wants the people to believe. Government can always obtain a loan for its services. But there are procedures that must be followed and conditions that must be met before those giving the loan will even grant the request.

No financial institution will release N20 billion through the back door and without regard for its own rules and regulations.

Furthermore, there is no record anywhere that the Ishaku administration ever obtained a loan without due process.

This present allegation and its sponsor do not deserve attention. They should rather look for space in the trash can.
