By Umaru Emma.
You’re welcome back son of Pa Ishaku Istifanus. You’re indeed a strong man; a defier of odds. One architect of intellectual culture, wisdom and civil decorum.
Undoubtedly, your long absence over the domestic injury you sustained in your home followed by excruciating pains and long recuperating process has no doubt as usual unmasked the faces of two categories of people; those who have shown understanding and sympathy by adhering to what the Holy Book says in 1 Timothy 2:1-3,
“I urge you, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers and thanksgiving be made for all people. For Kings and those in Authority that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good and pleases God”.
These sets of people upheld God’s word through offers of prayers in their houses, churches and mosques for your quick recovery. May peace be unto them and their homes!
While the other set of people, whose stock-in-trade is to spread falsehood and make mischief, purposely, not only to create fear and anxiety in the minds of Tarabans, but use inflammatory comments to stir breakdown of law and order also played their part.
Some mocked your health situation by posting old pictures of your tired-look during campaigns. Some whipped up religious sentiment by calling for your removal. Some hide under the veil of social cum civil crusaders and demean your person. Some wished you would never come back. Some wished you permanent incapacitation.
But the good thing is that their evil wishes aren’t God’s.
Anyways, that is human being for you. Although some of us weren’t surprised by their height of evil machinations through their actions and inactions. Because each time it re-echoes in our ears that the Almighty God Himself who created man says “The heart of a man is desperately wicked…”, we mutter words of prayers for you and fellow leaders of goodwill across Nigeria not to be caught by the web of the evil ones.
Behold, Today you’re back on your feet to the shame of your ill wishers– Sir, permit me to say that you have demonstrated not only your commitment to the Taraba project but your unalloyed determination to bequeath on the State good governance, growth and development.
It is therefore our collective prayers as a people that God will perfect your health and continue to grant you wisdom as you direct the affairs of the State.
Long live HE Arc. DDI
Long live Taraba State
Long live Nigeria
