His Excellency, Arc. Darius Dickson Ishaku has inaugurated the State Community Policing Advisory Committee (SCPAC).
The Governor who was represented by his deputy, Engr. Haruna Manu, stressed that the State Community Policing Advisory Committee is a framework provided under the Nigerian Community Policing Structure designed to deliver the guideline and direction for the establishment of complimentary outfits that will collaborate the Nigerian Police force.
Engr. Manu said that the inauguration of State Community Policing Advisory Committee (SCPAC) should be seen as the right step in the right direction.
“This Advisory Committee, no doubt, will help in reducing the tensions associated with calls from the States, pressure groups and regional bodies for different forms of security outfits.”
“The work that the Police are expected to do becomes more difficult when they are expected to do it alone. No matter how well-resourced or technologically advanced a Police Force might be, there might be no progress without the trust and support of the communities in which they operate.”
“Every citizen has a role to play in ensuring that the security architecture functions optimally.”
Engr. Manu calls on all Tarabans to support and rally round the committee at all levels to ensure that they do not only flourish, but help in bringing lasting peace as well as securing the lives and Property of every law-abiding citizen of the State.
