His Excellency, Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku today received delegation from the Code of Conduct Bureau on Covid-19.

Leader of the delegation disclosed that they were in the state for an official duty.

Governor Ishaku in his remarks said covid-19 is truly in the country and his earlier decision to lockdown the state was as a result of Taraba bordering about four different states combined with the outbreak in Cameroon, it became more pertinent for him to impose a lockdown on the state.

The governor said even though he was swift in his decision to impose a lockdown, the state still recorded cases which came as a result of commuters from other states.

The Governor made a request to the federal government through the delegation for the establishment of a testing center in Jalingo which he said will go a long way in determining whether or not there are victims in the state.

He appreciated partners such as Access Bank, North East Development Commission and others who stood with the state to make sure that the state is covid-19 free and still standing to sustain the status.

The leader of the delegation said they were in the Governor’s office to officially inform him of their presence in the state and to seek for his cooperation as they go about discharging their duties.

He disclosed that they will be monitoring all government intervention programmes in the state, distribution of palliatives to beneficiaries amongst others.

The event took place at the Governors chambers government house Jalingo.
