Gov. Ishaku giving his goodwill message during the burial service of late Pastor Peter Gambo at Jesus Glorious Army Church Auditorium.

Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku has described late Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress Peter Gambo as a humble and quintessential Unionist.

The Governor made the remarks during the funeral Service of the diseased labour leader held at the Christ Glorious Army Church, Mayogwoi Jalingo.

He said the testimonies of people and the large turnout of dignitaries at the funeral is a clear manifestation of the simple and impactful life that he lived.

Governor Darius Ishaku challenged labour leaders in the State to emulate the leadership style of late Peter.

In his sermon, resident Pastor of Living Faith Church Yola Salem Maigari said time is the greatest blessing to a man.

Maigari,who quoted the book of Ecclesiastes Chapter three verses one to two said there is a time to plant and a time to harvest, a time to murmur and a time to be happy, a time to be born and a time to die.

He urged the congregation to plant their lives in Christ and others just like late Peter Gambo who touched the lives of many people.

Earlier in his remarks, Pastor John Garba charged the congregation to remain focused, saying there is victory on the side of those who died in the Lord.

There were Goodwill messages from the Head of service Suzy Jemimah Nathan, Commissioner of health Innocent Vakkai, Nigerian Labour Congress, National Association of Nurses and Midwifery, Christian Association of Nigeria, Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, the family and others.

Speaker Taraba State House of Assembly Joseph Albasu Kunini,President of the Nigeria Labour Congress Ayuba Wabba,Chief of Staff Government House Administration Stephen Gbana, Spiritual leaders and other dignitaries attended the funeral service.

Late Peter Gambo was born on the 31st of December 1962 at Bambur Karim Lamido Local Government Area.

The deceased graduated from the College of Nursing and Midwifery Yola in 1985 and qualified as a registered nurse.

He later went for training at the School of Psychiatric Nursing Aro Abeokuta where he qualified as a registered Psychiatric Nurse in 1993 followed by his PGD in Community Health in ATBU Bauchi and Masters Degree in Health Management in Benue State.

Peter Gambo has worked at the Yola Specialist hospital, General hospital Bambur,General hospital Garkida and Specialist hospital Jalingo, until his demise he was on posting to the College of Nursing and Midwifery.

The deceased served as a Sole Administrator General Hospital Garkida, Chairman National Association of Nigeria and Midwifery and  until his demise he was the Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Taraba State Council and other responsibility.

He died as a gallant labour activist and Church leader on 14th of July 2020 after a brief illness at the Specialist Hospital and left behind a wife Abigail Peter Gambo, four Children and many relations.

Late Peter Gambo has since been commuted to mother earth at his residence in Jalingo.
