Delegation of the PDP National Working Committee (NWC) has paid Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku a condolence visit on the demise of HRH, late Amb. Emmanuel Njiwah (Mbonduah of Mbamnga) who served in the capacity of the National Vice Chairman PDP and Vice Chairman PDP North East and died on the 17th of January, describing him as a Godly person.
Distinguished Senator Sulaiman Nazif leader of the delegation described the late Mbondua as a man of so many styling qualities. He disclosed that they were in the state to condole his Excellency on the death of a man whom they all respect, a man of great courage and a former member of the NWC.
He said they as PDP lived as family and pray that this visit will comfort the family he left behind and the entire people of Taraba state.
He discribed the late paramount ruler of the Mbamnga Chiefdom as a friend to the Governor saying the Governor and the state has lost a great friend, a great supporter and some who has always made him proud.
He on behalf of the national working committee prayed that the soul of late Amb. Njiwah rest in peace even as he went ahead to advise those of us still living to always remember that death is a necessity and we should be prepared so that when it comes it wouldn’t take us unaware and also said the deceased left when his services are most needed.
Distinguished Sen. Ibrahim Umar Kazauri, the National Secretary of the PDP speaking said, what late Njiwah has done for the PDP before he left politics into leading his people can not be measured and he will be missed greatly for his wealth of experience and national stands.
“Though it is a sober moment but we want to use this medium to tell the people of Taraba that we are standing right behind the Governor and can not in anyway do anything that will give the Governor a cause to worry, we will consult with the Governor always when ever we want to take decisions concerning the party.”
He applauded the state PDP chairman, describing him as a young, vibrant and gentle personality who is working round the clock to reposition the party for the task ahead and urged other state chaimen to emulate same.
“PDP is proud of Governor Darius, he is a pillar in our party and can not be tempered with. He is an asset to the party and Tarabans must know how much he is valued by the national body of the party.”
The Governor in his responds expressed joy over the visit to condole him over the death of his late elder brother, the Mbonduah of Mbamnga and said he is indeed grateful to the PDP for sharing with him in this moment of grief.
“Njiwah is a great man and great leader but we can not question God why he left, for to every human being there is a time to be born and a time to die and every mortal must test death but Inbetween we must give thanks to God for his services”, the Governor said.
He disclosed that he knew the late Mbonduah of Mbamnga through his late elder brother who has passed on as well and since then they have related closely until his death.
“He has contributed so much ranging from civil servant in the state upto when he moved to the national level to contribute his quoter and to the moment he went to serve his people as a chief.”
The Governor said he could remember vividly when late Njiwah told him that he has finally gotten to a place where he will retire (chief) and was grateful  to God and to him for the appointment to be a king.
Governor Ishaku said PDP is a National Party and he is indeed excited and happy to find himself in PDP. He urged the PDP to always watch each other’s back and work together truthfully to better the party and the nation and that those who said PDP was not a party to belong to are now glamouring to either return or becoming a member.
The Governor maintained that PDP is a force to contend with in Taraba state and till date the PDP is solidly standing and that anyone who comes after him will only build on it.
He said them coming to visit him in this moment of grief is a sign of togetherness and he will work earnestly to make sure that he doesn’t fail the party.
He appreciated the party for delegating members of the NWC to come condole with him and assured that where ever he is needed to serve the party, he wouldn’t hesitate to make himself available.
Gov. Ishaku lastly disclosed that, whatever he tells the party at the National as regards the state is the reality and it is what will grow the state and the party and not otherwise and maintained that he doesn’t just talk but also works the talk.
“Our reputation in Taraba has been established in PDP and Tarabans love PDP.”
A special prayer was observed in regards the soul of the demise.
