Governor Ishaku presented with an Award of Honor by the leadership of GUTOSA at Government House, Jalingo.

The Gunduma Lissam Takum Government Old Students Association (GUTGOSA) leadership visited Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku.

The visit was to thank the Governor for his numerous support and efforts in giving the school a befittting face lift and remodeling it into a modern edifice through the support of Gen. T.Y Danjuma and the Victim Support Funds (VSF).

Responding, Governor Ishaku thanked them for the visit and stressed that it was indeed sad that the crisis that happened in 1998 got the school damaged.

The governor said that when he visited the place in 2015, he made up his mind not to allow the place as it were which necessitated for the rehabilitation of the school and his administration contributed her own quota to the rehabilitation but chunk of the work was done by the VSF.

“The Victim support funds (VSF) came to the rescue of the school and it was rescued indeed.”

He disclosed that plans are on top gear to convert it to study campus of the Taraba State University where some courses will be offered because the building is far much more than just a secondary school.

Ishaku said he is grateful to God because the peace in the state today is much more better than it were before and urged them to encourage their children to get enrolled and learn so as to have a better future.

Chairman of the Association Mr. Bulus, said it was at the support of the Governor that the school was renamed to International Model Secondary School Takum by General T.Y Danjuma and VSF with a befitting structure to match any modern school in the nation stressing that this can not be swept under the capert hence the need for thank you visit.

They honored General TY Danjuma (Rtd) and the Governor with a well decorated plaque in recognition of their tremendous support in rebuilding the school and leaving a legacy for generations unborn.
