The Nigeria Council of Chiefs has Commiserate with Governor Darius Ishaku on the demise of HRM Dr.Shekarau Angyu Masa Ibi Kuvyu II, Aku Uka of Wukari who passed on to join his ancestors weeks back.

A Delegation led by HRM Dr. Mohammed Abbali (CON), Emir of Fika was in government house Jalingo earlier today and presented a letter from the Council to the Governor to that effect.

HRM Dr. Mohammed Abbali who doubles as the Coordinator, National Council of Chiefs said he was nominated by the Sultan of Sokoto itogether with the Onni of Ife to represent the council.

He stated that late Aku-Uka is one of the oldest Monarch in the history of Nigeria and has been a father figure to the entire Council of Chiefs.

HRM Dr. Abbali disclosed that they migrated from Yemen together but decided to go separate ways along their journey and that some of them should by tradition, be given a role in the selection of a new Aku Uka but due to the long reign of the late Monarch, some of these traditions has since been forgotten and urged the Governor to revive the process.

The Governor in his remarks thank the Chairman, Council of Traditional Rulers, His Eminent the Sultan of Sokoto for sending a high powered delegation to commiserate with the state.

He disclosed that Aku Uka was the Chairman, Council of Chiefs and an embodiment of peace and wisdom who will be greatly missed.

He promised to pick up from where the late Aku-Uka stopped in trying to link up the Kwararafa empire.

Governor Ishaku disclosed that the peace largely enjoyed in Taraba state today is due to the efforts of the late Aku Uka who always advise appropriately.

He assured the Monarch of informing and following up on the incoming King so as to carry on with the task of linking the kwararafa empire.
